(More customer reviews)This item was as pictured. Plastic, but seems as durable as the other plastic Thomas vehicles. My son wanted it when he saw it online, but it hasn't gotten much play time.

Oliver is a steam shovel, or "excavator," although his shovel can be replaced by other useful tools. He is always keeping an eye on the other Pack members, being very concerned about workyard safety. Sometimes it seems like his "Safety First" mantra is used to deflect accusations of slow work, but he really does try to prevent accidents. It was Oliver who dug up the dinosaur skeleton that ended up in the Sodor Museum. He is About 3?-inches long. No batteries required. For Age 3 Years and up.
